Firstly, I want to state that this blog is not political. I don't want to entertain any notions resembling anything having to do with politics. It's all about the leaf and everything that surrounds it. Now to get down to the business at hand, Tobacco or what we do with it. I'm going to make a bold statement, "Cuban tobacco is the best in the world". You might say it has its own "Terroir". It's the same seed everywhere else but the conditions just aren't the same. It's the reason why I originally got hooked on cigars, they remind me of wine. Cigars are not all the same, different countries have different characteristics, just like wine. By the way, I'm a wine enthusiast as well. I know this is going to ruffle some feathers. It's not to say that other tobacco is bad, it's just not as good. Most cigar smokers from the USA, I believe, have aquired a palate for non-cuban cigars & it would be hard for them to aquire a taste for Cubans, they are distinctly different. We, that is the rest of the world who can buy Cubans, think there is no other cigar. The cigars available in the USA have been created for that market. Are they even sold in Europe?? I found Macanudos, lots of Toscanelli in Italy but besides some of that northern European machine rolled stuff I was hard pressed to find anything other than Cubans. Domenicans, Hondurans, Nicaraguan, I didn't see. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm always willing to learn something. I enjoy non-cuban cigars on occasion; Padron, AVO, Arturo Fuente, among others. I don't want anyone to think I'm prejudice but Cubans are still the best. So that's the start of my blogging. I'm sure some people are not happy with my point of view but I can take it as well as give it. You're welcome to let me know what you think. I will also be dealing with the best things Cuba has to offer. I hope you tune in to see what I have to say. For now I bid you Adios.
